At Dynamic Connections, we love food. If you have read our blog posts, you will know a lot of them centre around eating. Recently, Dynamic Connections has welcomed SAFE Transportation to our family. Some of our team headed to the Cincinnati office to spend time with the SAFE team and learn about SAFE’s business. Spend any time in Cincinnati and you’ll quickly hear about its most iconic food: Cincinnati chili. We had to try it!
It’s not traditional chili. Instead of a thick, spicy stew, it’s a finely seasoned meat sauce — flavored with spices like cinnamon and cloves — most famously served over spaghetti and topped with a generous pile of shredded cheddar cheese. Sounds unconventional, but the taste is anything but…it just works!
How to Order it?
Cincinnati chili is ordered “by the way”:
- 3-Way: Spaghetti, chili, and cheese
- 4-Way: Add onions or beans
- 5-Way: Add both
Cheese coneys — hot dogs topped with chili, mustard, onions, and cheese were also enjoyed. Our team crushed about four of these.
Locals are fiercely loyal, often choosing between Skyline Chili and Gold Star Chili. National Chili Day coincided with our visit, so we had both! The SAFE team brought in lunch for everyone and the jury is still out on which place had the better chili.
What wasn’t up for debate, though, was how much we value time spent together — learning each other’s operations, sharing meals, and building stronger relationships. That’s what this next chapter is about.
