As in previous years, we will not only give goods, we will give the gift of time. Every two months, we get together to celebrate our team and our wins and each other through team building events like axe-throwing, pottery, painting, sports and games. This December we will celebrate all that we already have by giving back to our communities through volunteering. This gift can’t be wrapped, but it’s immense in terms of its impact.
Members of our Greenteam will head to the Oakville Firehall next month to sort toys and canned goods; helping their team with this massive community undertaking. Last year, we assembled a team to volunteer; this year we have doubled our participation and will head out on two separate days, doubling our efforts to give back.
Every year, we try to raise awareness and focus on food items or demographics that are often overlooked. This year, our partners at the Oakville Firehall shared that infants and teenagers are the most underserved categories in their charity drives. This means that infant clothes as well as gift cards of all kinds are welcomed for these groups. Things like grocery store gift cards, Bet Buy and Sephora gift cards for these two demographics are always welcomed.
Of course, tinned goods and non-perishables of all kinds are always in need for local food banks, given their need is at an all time high across many regions. With the Holiday Delivery, we strive to collect as many food items as possible to donate to local communities. This is a full team effort and an initiative where we work with our customers to raise awareness and collect donations.
